German bespoke coachbuilder BINZ, known for converting Mercedes-Benz E-Classes into dedicated police and ambulance vehicles, has just updated its line of six-door limousines based on Stuttgart's midsize offering. Mercedes-Benz has updated its E-Class for the 2014 model year, and another German manufacturer, BINZ, has redesigned this version into a six-door limousine, one of its most popular models.

BINZ worked with the E-class platform even before it got its name, building wagons and limousines on the W114 chassis since the 1960s. And with the W123-based offering, the company managed to establish a strong foothold in the limousine market, especially with four-door models with redesigned rear doors and a wide C-pillar to provide a spacious passenger compartment, and went on to create many different versions of subsequent E-Class cars.

The latest six-door limousine based on the W212 E-Class body is offered in eight and six-seat variants, with a difference in mid- and rear-row seat configurations, making this vehicle an interesting proposition for diplomatic missions or upscale hotels.

Extended at the B-pillar by 1,110 mm, the BINZ six-door limousine uses custom-made middle row doors. The interior configuration has been redesigned to maximize passenger space, and in the Comfort specification limousine, additional consoles have been added for the middle and rear row of seats. Multi-zone climate control is offered for all three rows of seats, and a beverage cooler is integrated into the rear seat console. The six-door BINZ E-Class is also equipped with a Connectivity Package that includes a wireless router and an integrated phone.

BINZ offers a six-door E-Class Limousine alongside a four-door E-Class Business Limousine, which features a shorter B-pillar insert and is offered with a retractable partition between the driver and rear passenger compartment. The six-door limousine, which has become a favorite of luxury hotels in Europe, can be ordered in E220, E350, E500 and E250 CDI versions, although the smaller engines are most popular with the company's customers.

BINZ once had a branch in North America, but no longer sells its vehicles in the US. The main buyers of this and other types of converted Mercedes-Benz (among which there are also ambulances, police cars, fire and rescue vehicles, and hearses) offered by the company are European organizations and firms.
