In life, we often forget the importance of celebrating special occasions. The truth is that these celebrations are the spice of life, and making the most of them comes with undeniable benefits.

Whether you’re planning your wedding, getting your teenager and their friends ready for their first prom, or planning a big night out on the town, there’s one thing you shouldn’t overlook: hiring a limousine service.

When you hire a luxury limousine service for your special occasion, you ensure that the event will be incredible from start to finish. The question is, how do you pick and hire a limousine service?

Read on for our guide to hiring a limousine service for special occasions.

Take Stock of Your Specific Needs

Before you can hire a chauffeured car service, you will need to take stock of your specific needs. Let’s go through a list of questions to ask yourself before you begin the hunt for the perfect limo.

What Is Your Budget?

There are many ways to save money when planning an event (or planning to attend an event), and one of them is sticking to your budget. How much can you afford to spend on a limousine service without compromising your budget? Knowing what you can spend can help you to narrow down your options.

How Many People Do You Plan to Transport?

Believe it or not, limousines don’t come in one standard size. Small limos can transport up to six people while the largest limos can transport up to 18. At HLS, our limos have space for 11 passengers.

When Will You Require Transportation?

What is the date of your event, what time do you need to arrive, and what time do you want to be taken home or to your next venue? Where is the event located? When you request quotes from limousine services, these details are important.

Do You Need a Car Service for More Than One Event?

We often work with clients who want to hire our services for more than one event. Working with the same limousine service for multiple special occasions can make good financial sense. For example, when you book our car service for weddings, we offer discounted services for bachelor and/or bachelorette parties.

Check Out the Fleet

As you’re browsing your local options, take some time to look at each car service’s fleet. After all, you want to know what you’ll be riding in before you hire your limo service. Let’s talk about a few of the factors to consider when you’re perusing different limo service fleets.

Available Vehicles

Taking a limousine to your special event is always an enticing option. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s your only option. You may find that you want to work with a car service that has more than one type of vehicle in the fleet, including luxury SUVs, sedans, and limo buses, all vehicles that HLS is proud to offer.

Special Amenities

Modern luxury vehicles come with some impressive luxury amenities that can make each trip all the more fun, memorable, and catered to you. Our stretch limousines are all equipped with flatscreen, internet-connected televisions, a DVD player, BlueTooth-enabled sound systems, and a non-alcoholic bar service. Plus, tinted windows and a glass divider between the passengers and their driver create a private experience while our additional doors prevent that awkward sliding you can encounter in older limousines.

Look for Experience and Professionalism

Hiring a limousine service isn’t just about the vehicle. It’s about the professionalism of the company, the experience they provide, and the safety of the drivers.

Harrington Limousine Service has earned the reputation of being the best NJ limo service in large part because we’ve been in the business for nearly a century. HLS has been family-owned since 1923, making us one of the oldest chauffeured car services in the entire nation.

We don’t just expect our history to speak for us. We hope to maintain this great reputation for centuries to come, and we’re committed to hiring and training only the best drivers, operating the finest luxury vehicles, and providing unforgettable experiences for every single client that hires us for their special day.

Get in Contact Early

HLS does its best to accommodate even the most last-minute arrangements. However, due to the popularity of our NJ-based limo service, we can book up fast. We recommend contacting us as early as possible before the date of your special event to ensure that we have vehicles available for you.

Request a Free Quote

If you’ve got your budget on your mind, you’re looking for your NJ car service the right way. To make sure that we fit your budget before you book one or more of our vehicles, we do provide a free quote upon request. Let us know what you need from a limousine service and we’ll promptly respond with a no-obligation quote.

Embrace Your Special Occasion and Hire a Limousine Service

In life, it’s important that we take the time to celebrate milestones, special moments, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. By hiring the right limousine service, you can make every special occasion more memorable from start to finish.

If you’re looking for a chauffeured car service in New Jersey, Harrington Limousine Service is here to help. We take great pride in the work that we do and strive to make every client happy. Contact us and let us know about your special event and we’ll let you know how we can help.

When you hire a luxury limousine service for your special occasion, you ensure that the event will be incredible from start to finish. The question is, how do you pick and hire a limousine service?

Pet Travel by Car | Pet Friendly Limo & Car Service

Pet travel by car involves more than just loading the animal in the vehicle and motoring off, especially if you will be driving long distances or plan to be away for a long time. Whether traveling with pets by private car, limousine, or a commercial car service, there are things to keep in mind to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Here are a few pet travel by car tips to help you prepare for a smooth and safe trip:

  1. The best place for an animal travelling inside a vehicle is riding inside a crate or secured into another device that keeps them safe in the event of an accident, traversing sharp turns or coming to an abrupt stop. The crate should be large enough for your pet to stand, sit, lie down and turn around in. Secure your pet’s crate so it will not slide or shift in the event of an abrupt stop. If you decide to forgo the crate, don’t allow your pet to ride with his head outside the window, and always keep him in the back seat in a harness attached to a seat buckle. Keeping your pet in the back seat of the car will prevent possible injury if an airbag deploys while your pet is in the passenger seat (even in a crate).
  2. Most cats aren’t comfortable traveling in cars, so for their safety as well as yours, keep them in a carrier. It’s important to restrain these carriers in the car so that they don’t bounce around and hurt your cat. Do this by securing a seat belt around the front of the carrier.
  3. If you’re going on a long road trip prep your pet by taking him on a series of short drives first, gradually lengthening time spent in the car. If you’re traveling across state lines and especially if visiting national parks and campgrounds, bring along your pet’s rabies vaccination record. While this generally isn’t a problem, some states require this proof at certain interstate crossings.
  4. Bring food, a bowl, leash, a waste scoop, plastic bags, grooming supplies, medication and first-aid, and any travel documents. Pack a favorite toy or pillow to give your pet a sense of familiarity. Be sure to pack plenty of water, and avoid feeding your pet in a moving vehicle. Your pet’s travel-feeding schedule should start with a light meal three to four hours prior to departure, and always opt for bottled water. Dog-Gear recommends to get a special portable travel bottle for your pet!
  5. Stop frequently to allow your pet to exercise and eliminate. But, never permit your pet to leave the car without a collar, ID tag and leash.
  6. Never leave your animal alone in a parked vehicle. On a hot day, your vehicle can quickly reach temperature that puts your pet at risk of serious illness an even death, even on a day that doesn’t seem hot to you. And cracking the windows makes no difference. In cold weather, a car can act as a refrigerator, holding in the cold and causing the animal to freeze to death.

Overview: Lufthansa First Class, Frankfurt-Buenos Aires

I was told at the first class terminal that they would pick me up at 21:15, but boarding was a bit delayed. I spent time at a lovely bar where a friendly staff member - the only bright spot of my FCT visit this time - offered me a rum tasting.

At 9:30 pm, a lounge employee finally approached me and offered to take the elevator down to where there is a dedicated passport control. Then they wished me a happy flight and escorted me to the limousine.

Besides me, there was also a group of three Frenchmen. They were given a minivan and I had my own limousine.

I love the tour of the night airfield! Finally, we taxied close to Queen of the Skies . So close you can touch...

The driver took me on the elevator to the arm, where boarding was already in full swing, and directed me to the front door. Hello Lufthansa First Class!

LUFTHANSA LH510
Frankfurt (FRA)-Buenos Aires (EZE)
Sent: 21:55
Arrival (+1)
Duration: 13 Aircraft: Boeing 747-800
Seat: 2K (First Class)

I have previously described Lufthansa's first class cockpit in detail, but this is the case when you savor the description.

On board the 747-800, the first class is located on the lower deck, at the very nose of the aircraft, and consists of eight seats: the first two rows in a 1-1 configuration, and the last in a 1-2-1 configuration.

The cab is a single space. In general, I have nothing against such a layout, but the fact is that I have never encountered in the first class with ... hmm, such a contingent 🙂

First class passengers are usually quiet people traveling alone. There are, of course, exceptions, but if we are talking about closed suites, then what's the difference ...

This time there were 5 passengers in the cabin: me, a quiet lonely person in 3A and three Frenchmen in 1A, 2A and 1K. After visiting the first class terminal, we were all in a good mood 🙂 But it's one thing to be in a good mood alone, and another thing to be in a company of friends.

Their limousine arrived before mine, and when I entered the cab, the "party" had already begun. The French immediately changed into their pajamas, put each of them on the seat with a teddy bear, and continued on their way to an even better, bright red mood. How I wanted to move them to the future, to the Qatari QSuite 🙂

Again, I am by no means complaining about inappropriate behavior or anything like that; it's just that the first moments on board turned out to be blurry due to noise and chaos, and forced to slightly adjust the value of completely closed suites.

Back to hard product. I chose the 2K seat, which in theory I think is the best for solo travelers.

The seats in the front row are too close together if you don't want to feel the presence of a neighbor, and too far apart to communicate normally. Seats in the third row by the window are next to the galley (although a thick soundproof curtain levels this) and yet next to the center seats. But the second row - that's it!

For those traveling together, the choice is obvious – third row, central seats.

Lufthansa First Class is full of storage space! There are two drawers under the windows, one of which already contained Bose headphones.

Under the ottoman there is enough space for shoes and many other items.

Socket and port located under the armrest.

Next, the entertainment control is built into the right armrest.

And to the left - seat control buttons.

There are also four pre-programmed chair positions.

And some other details: a reading light...

...another one...

...and a hanger.

Is this the most advanced seat in the industry? No. The most thoughtful? No. But it's incredibly stylish. Sitting in a Lufthansa First Class seat is a pleasure.

Soon the carrier of this flight, Claudia, approached me and wished me a pleasant flight. She herself served the business class cabin, and Alexandra was responsible for the first class, who soon offered me a glass of champagne and a plate of macadamia nuts.

I was surprised that first class on this flight was served by such young flight attendants - Alexandra and her colleague were barely 20.0210 Henriot . This is one of my favorite champagnes; for my taste, it is noticeably superior to the Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle that Lufthansa has served before. Let's see if this innovation will last. ..

Then I was asked what size of pajamas I prefer. I asked for the smallest available, knowing that even an airplane “M” is closer to a regular “L”… Alexandra even kindly offered me a women’s “S” 🙂

downgrade me…

Instead of the Rimowa case, this time Lufthansa offered a leather set from Jil Sander . It's a weird folded bag. Here's how it looks when folded:

And here's how it looks when unfolded:

Despite the fact that there are zippers on both sides, there is no partition inside. Jil Sander deserves some astonishment for its design, but in real life this bag doesn't seem very practical to me.

Its content was minimalistic.

Pre-flight service was diligent and accommodating, and the chaos in the cockpit was definitely not the flight attendants' fault.

On the other hand, probably, my behavior seems to someone to be chaos; I mean my heightened photography.

Alexandra invited all passengers to explain the functions of the seat. I thanked and refused, but the rest were told and shown everything. There was one funny dialogue:

-Of course, the seat converts to a fully flat bed.
-That's why we decided to fly first class.

Ha. We need to tell economy passengers about this. They are sitting there, behind the curtain, solely because they don’t know that in the first class the chair turns into a full bed 🙂

At 21:59 the captain greeted the passengers, who reported the travel time of 13 hours and 15 minutes. We soon sailed away from the gate and after a long taxi left Frankfurt.

After takeoff, I visited the toilet, which is roomy and comfortable in first class.

All accessories that are missing from the travel kit are present in the toilet.

Service started without delay. First I was offered a hot towel with a rose petal garnish.

Then - amuse bouche , for which I asked for another glass Henriot .

And the menu on the flight was as follows:

VIN:

9000 9000

9000 booths set up a bar with all four red wines on display - the party in the front of the cabin revolved around vin rouge .

Seeing that I had taken some photos of the bar, Alexandra offered to open all four bottles of white as well - even if it was just for the sake of the photo.

Interestingly, after takeoff, the cockpit lighting was not fully turned on. The light level was like this:

Given that no one was going to sleep right away, this seemed strange to me, and in the end I had to ask why we ate dinner in the dark 🙂 I don’t remember which dish, but the light included.

Soon I had an elegant table set.

Caviar service was carried out from a trolley. I was offered all the traditional side dishes for caviar - lemon, onion, egg, toast.

As for the caviar itself, it was the most economical portion that I could see in the first class…

That is, there are not enough fish eggs…

I attribute this to the inexperience of the young flight attendant in the matter of distribution… It's okay, soon the caviar returned to me in the form of a second portion 🙂

Then it was time for appetizers - you could choose a little bit of everything.

The marinated veal, smoked trout and Leipziger Allerlei vegetable salad and green salad were nice.

For the main course, I asked for lamb, which - by the relatively low standards of Lufthansa first class catering - was sumptuous. Just unexpectedly luxurious!

For dessert, I chose the coffee and orange dessert, which was ok, but nothing more. I was pleased with the relatively "easy" finish to dinner and gave up cheese.

Then I was offered a chocolate set.

I don't expect a Lufthansa First Class dinner that I'll look back on for months. The main course was very good, the caviar was... caviar and everything else could be skipped.

The selection of wines was adequate, but notably inferior to that of, for example, Cathay Pacific.

At the very least, it's commendable that Lufthansa is trying to change the menu, offer new champagne... Maybe someday the right solution will be found.

The service was friendly and attentive. Alexandra always found time for pleasant conversation - despite the fact that she alone had to serve five passengers; colleague did not help her at all.

On the other hand, the service was mechanized. The next dish arrived when the cart left, and not when I wanted it. “Personalization” consisted only in who this very cart would drive up to first. When I asked to bring me the main dish in 10 minutes, it still arrived in time in a minute.

After dinner I played around with the entertainment system a bit - not Lufthansa's strong point. The flight map is outdated and non-customizable, and the range of music and movies leaves a lot to be desired.

As usual, Internet was offered on this flight at a reasonable price. Passengers can also look up destination information free of charge.

I watched some stupid movie for half an hour, savored the very fact of a night in first class and asked me to make a bed on a 3K seat. Sooo great!

Buenos Aires was almost 10 hours away, so I set myself up for a good night's sleep. This is probably the best flight and departure time option to enjoy first class to the fullest!

Throughout the night there was quite a strong turbulence, so it was impossible to call a full sleep. At the same time, the signals of the seat belts were turned off all the time.

And this time the air conditioner was turned on more than usual. The bed, as always, was beautiful - private, with cozy and warm linen.

When I finally woke up and decided that it was time to get up, there was only 1 hour and 27 minutes left before the arrival.

It's good that they didn't hurry to wake me up. The rest of the passengers at this time were already actively having breakfast.

I was immediately offered orange juice and a hot towel.

While I was putting myself in order, they set the table for me for breakfast. It is also served from a trolley. The choice was among traditional German cheese-sausage-fish cuts. Except that the presentation wasn't great considering I was the last one...

Then I was offered fruit, muesli with yogurt or milk, and bread.

I chose a croissant and a small pain au chocolat . He was fantastic! I have a weakness for chocolate muffins - but the fact is that almost no one outside of France knows how to make them. The supplier of buns at Lufthansa is what you need!

I also asked for a cappuccino, which was… like in a rustic German patisserie 🙂 Probably the only time in my life I wanted to wake up on board an Alitalia business class.

Lufthansa also offers fresh omelettes and I couldn't refuse.

After breakfast, the passengers were given customs declarations to enter Argentina.

At 6:36, the captain again addressed the passengers, saying that we would land in 30 minutes and that it was already 18 degrees in Buenos Aires in the morning.

On the left side, a fabulous dawn was planned. It makes sense to choose a seat on the left!

But the views from my side were great as we flew over the bay and the western part of the city.

First Alexandra said goodbye to the passengers, and then Purser Claudia. We had a delightful conversation and she wished me a happy birthday and gave me a bottle of Henriot. A nice way to offset some of the fuel surcharges spent on an award ticket 🙂

At 7:07 we landed and parked pretty quickly at the gate next to Avianca and KLM planes.

An airport employee was waiting at the exit of the plane with a sign on which were written the names of five first class passengers. I was asked if I checked in my luggage, and when I answered no, I was told to go to passport control on my own. Hmm ... It's not entirely clear what the meaning of this service is. All the other first-class passengers also went to the general queue, which was impressive.

I love Lufthansa first class!

Despite the outdated and non-private cockpit, terrible entertainment system and not always impressive catering, I want to fly this product again and again.

However, I would like to repeat this flight with some reservations…

The timing of serving meals should be more personalized, as a travel set I preferred to see the classic Rimowa , and as for the service… bring back the German “grandparents” .

Many are ironic when it comes to seniors serving premium cabins, but when it comes to Lufthansa, this is one of the highlights that make this product attractive. I understand that this is pure taste, but trusting the service of first class passengers to twenty-year-old girls (who were professional and kind!), and even of a different origin from Germany, we go to the territory of Emirates and Etihad.
